EVENT ::: Regeneration Celebration

What a summer it’s been so far… grey, soggy and pathetic but we’ve got an event that we think we change all of that. We’ve got a feeling the sun will be out when we celebrate 50 years of Jamaican Independence at The Regeneration Celebration at Bob Marley Way, Brixton on Sunday 29^th July. The venue couldn’t be any more perfect as you associate Mr Marley as soon as you think of Jamaica (oh and Usain Bolt.)

Acts on the day will include rappers Sway, Lady Leshurr and Devlin. There will be House from Kyra and Crazy Cousins, as well as sounds featuring Trojan Sound System, Gappy Ranks and Aruba Red. Guests will be honoured as Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella Marley will be in attendance, she said of the event “Dad enjoyed many happy times in South London, so I’m pleased Marley’s Mellow Mood is working with this community to create an event that will both entertain and leave a legacy.”

If it’s enough for Bob, it’s good enough for us! The event will not only be about celebrating Jamaican heritage but we’ll include commercially successful DJ’s, up- and-coming perfomers, live art, spoken word and workshops. There will quite literally be something for everyone; think of this as you’re Notting Hill Carnival warm up.

The only thing that could make this event even better is a Tupac Shakur style hologram of Bob Marley, which would be epic! Just bring your friends, family and smile for a jamming time.
