FILM ::: COSMOPOLIS

Based on the novel by Don De Lillio and directed by David Croneberg, Cosmopolis, tells the story of Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson) a billionaire of the financial world.  As he’s being casually chauffeured, (as you do)  across Manhattan for a haircut, the President’s visit grinds the city to a halt.  All he can do, is sit and watch as the concrete jungle of New York’s activity leads him to characters which set to destroy everything he is.  As his paranoia deepens over the 24 hour timescale, Packer  comes to the desperate but nonetheless true, conclusion that his assassination is imminent, and only drawing closer.

Tense and unsentimental, Pattinson exudes confidence in his role and doesn’t disappoint.

I’m not adverse to  beautiful sparkly vampires, but seeing Pattinson in a grittier role showcases his talents to a much wider audience than pre hormonal tweenagers. I know right, who knew?

Cosmopolis is released June 15th.
