James Craise. Now when I write a review, I find it difficult to conduct myself professionally, because I’m a bit nosey really. When I write I like to know the ins and outs, what makes an artist tick, where it all comes from y’know? I also like to keep it fresh, there are only so many synonyms for awesome, amazing, incredible and fantastic. Which sucks really, because James Craise is all of the above.
Leaving school at 14, James’ music career began early, but I don’t want to dwell on the past for Craise, all I see is an absolutely blinding future. However much the hardships are the making of a person, and indeed sometimes the fire in the belly of an artist, I want to talk about this voice. Distinctive, soulful, passionate, y’know that voice that gives you tingles on your back? Yeah he’s got that.
Craise’s above rendition of Born to Die completely smashes it. I understand the necessity of a cover track, but there’s always a risk that you can’t out-perform the original, or there’s no edge to the song so it’s just like everybody else. James clearly did not have that problem. This suave looking star in the making confidently takes on the challenge.
His own tracks are all up online to check out and the high standard continues throughout. I cannot wait to see this guy perform live, most definitely worth checking out. James has the whole package, making him very marketable, it’s surprising he’s not been picked up already. I see it being just a matter of time. So remember you saw it here first, James Craise, boy’s got soul.
