Tom Prior, never have I heard such an all-round talent. His vocal capability runs from rap and hip hop to soul.

Tom is part of the reason I looked into a career in the Music Industry, he’s honest, hard working and intelligent. Prior’s attitude to music and life in general portrays a young man that constantly strives to further not just his career, but himself.

The first track I checked is the video featured, his adaptation of ‘Changes’ by Tupac. A gritty, truthful approach which shows not just his creativity but diversity with vocals.

What I like most about Tom is that when you listen to him, you don’t listen to a rapper portraying an attitude, nor a singer with a front. You hear a truthful lyricist, with heart. In a recent interview at Somerset House, Tom explained that his own musical interests are broad, and I look forward to following him along his journey of attempting to merge them together into his own sound.

Prior also explained, however much his music is from the heart and personal experience, he loves “the geeky side” being creative with song structure, a formidable combination. I can’t wait to see Tom live, he seems to be an artist very confident in knowing what he wants to create, and as you can tell from above, he’s very good at it.
