In a couple of weeks, we’ll be graced by one of the greatest female voices to hit our radio waves since Norah Jones and Paloma Faith. Sharing similarities with some of the biggest names in pop music isn’t a bad way to start your career as Kristina Train is soon to find out.
Throughout the video for ‘Dream of Me’ which will be released on 27th August 2012 on the ‘Dream of Me’ EP, Kristina Train’s distinctive vocals ring out reminding you of simpler times; for me, when I hear this song, I think of Grease (the film), ice cream parlours and warm summer evenings. I didn’t realise a song I’ve just discovered could evoke such significant memories but ‘Dream of Me’ has me proved wrong.
While there are definitely hints of Rumer, Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin throughout her music, it’s quite apparent that Kristina Train is ready to take on the music world, and she’s ready to take it on hard. Her music is full of soul and honesty; something which the music industry could definitely use a little more of. A modern Dusty Springfield in a Lana Del Rey world, I predict very big things for this girl.

This is one of those very rare songs that occasionally comes along and knocks you off your feet. Amazing vocal performance, incredible production. Anybody know who wrote it?
