WE LOVE ::: FRANK HAMILTON

Once upon a time, I sat in a strange living room in Clapham. I was a tiny bit intoxicated, full of love and mince pies and I was lucky enough to be listening to some awesome live music. The live music I’m on about was coming from a guy named Frank Hamilton and just in case any of you were wondering, the strange living room I was sat in was his.

It was 20th December 2010, I had just spent the day with a guy who I’m convinced is the love of my life, snow was falling and I was surrounded by 2 of my best friends and about 18 other strangers watching Frank play one of his infamous Living Room gigs. Accompanied by a couple of his friends, numerous bottles of mulled wine and mince pies, Frank entertained the crowd with live performances of his songs for a good 3 hours.

I don’t know whether it was the excitement from the day I’d just had or the 4 glasses of mulled wine I’d consumed but I could seriously not have asked for a more brilliant night. Frank is genuinely one of the most talented musicians I’ve come across and he’s such a lovely guy as well.

When I saw him live, he’d been trawling around the country playing intimate gigs every so often and he had released an EP called ‘You, Your Cat and Me’ that is still to this day one of my favourite EPs. Roll forward 18 months and Frank’s nearly halfway through his ‘One Song A Week’ project, which manages to blow my mind every week.

The whole idea behind the project is basically, Frank’s releasing one song a week. That’s it. Well it’s not really but for more information, it’s probably easier to actually check out the project yourself: www.onesongaweek.co.uk

I’m hooked on it and I can’t wait for Frank to get gigging again. I need me some more of that December 20th 2010 action please.

P.S Frank, that mulled wine stain on your white sofa that was covered up with a cushion…yeah, sorry about that…
